IMD forecasts heavy rainfall in several parts of the country
New Delhi, Jun 26, 2026 : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura today.
The weather agency has also forecast thunder squalls over Bihar, East Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh today.
The Met Department has predicted thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds over Delhi, Jharkhand, Odisha, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Vidarbha and West Rajasthan during the next two to three days. Similar weather conditions are likely to prevail over Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Telangana and Sikkim during the same period.
The IMD has also forecast heatwave conditions at isolated places over Jharkhand and East Uttar Pradesh today.
