West Bengal government announces 20% DA hike
New Delhi, Jun 23, 2026 : As the Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari put as an inclusive one the budget has aimed to build Vikshit Bangla as part of Viksit Bharat. From social security and women’s safety to education, from agriculture industry development to infrastructure upliftment from environment – tourism to health care every sector has been taken care of in the first budget of the new government in West Bengal.
The Government has increased the Dearness Allowance of the state government employees by 20% and it has been enhanced to 38% from the current 18%. The pensioners would also get the benefit. It has been informed by the state government that the pay parity would be maintained in line with the central government employees.
Nari Sahayata Desks in every police station and Durga Suraksha Squads for patrolling would be set up. ASHA workers’ honorarium has been enhanced by five thousand rupees. For tea garden workers’ socio-economic upliftment a Tea Workers Development Board would be formed. Rupees fourteen thousand have been allocated for the implementation of the Vikshit Bharat G RAM G mission.
In the agriculture sector, coverage under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana has been enhanced to sixteen crops during the current year. Under the PM KISAN scheme each farmer family would get an additional three thousand rupees. Infrastructure development works would be carried in the state under the Purvodaya scheme. A deep-sea port would be built at Dandanpatrabarh of Purba Medinipur district. A greenfield airport would be built at Kalyani
