IMD forecasts heavy rainfall

New Delhi, Jun 20, 2026 : India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim today. The met department has predicted heavy rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe.

IMD said that thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds are likely to prevail over Jammu-Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Delhi, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha ,Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and North- Interior Karnataka.

Meanwhile, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa may experience heatwave conditions today.
