Security forces intensify intelligence-based operations in Manipur

New Delhi, Jun 19, 2026 : In Manipur, security forces continued the extensive intelligence-based combing and search operations. During these operations, security forces arrested ten active cadres of various underground outfits and successfully rescued an abducted person.

According to police sources, four active cadres of KCP (PWG) involved in placing hand grenades at multiple locations were arrested from Imphal East district, and a four-wheeler vehicle used in extortion activities was recovered yesterday. Another four active cadres of KCP (MFL) involved in extortion and illegal supply of arms were arrested from different locations in Kakching district yesterday.

Additionally, security forces apprehended an active cadre of RPF/PLA and KCP (PWG) from Imphal East and Bishnupur districts on 16th June and 17th June 2026, respectively.

Meanwhile, security forces yesterday rescued a fifty-year-old man from the Moreh Gate Number 1 area who was allegedly abducted by suspected PSH cadres and handed him over to his family.
