Agartala MBB airport to observe Passenger Amenity Day on 15 June
New Delhi, Jun 14, 2026 : To commemorate the completion of 12 years of the NDA government at the Centre, the Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport authority in Agartala will observe ‘Passenger Amenity Day’ on June 15. The Director of MBB Airport, Kishan Mohan Nehra, announced the initiative during a press conference today, outlining a series of special gestures planned for travellers.
On June 15, air passengers arriving at the terminal will receive a traditional welcome with tilak, while elderly and senior citizens will be specially honoured with ceremonial stoles (uttariyan). The single-day celebration will also feature vibrant performances of local folk dance and music, alongside a voluntary blood donation camp organized within the airport premises.
Highlighting the infrastructure milestone, the Director stated that the Agartala airport has witnessed a radical transformation in passenger services over the last 12 years, with annual passenger traffic skyrocketing from 8.90 lakh in the 2014-15 financial year to an impressive 15 lakh in the 2025-26 fiscal.
