Southwest monsoon further advances into West-Central and entire Northeast Bay of Bengal

New Delhi, Jun 08, 2026 : The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of west-central and entire northeast Bay of Bengal today. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), southwest monsoon also advanced into some more parts of northwest Bay of Bengal, entire Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and some parts of Tripura, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh today.

The weather agency predicted heavy to very heavy Rainfall at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka, Interior Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim tomorrow. The IMD said that isolated to scattered rainfall is likely over Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Uttarakhand during the next 4-5 days.

Meanwhile, various parts of the national capital received light to moderate rainfall this evening. The rainfall brought relief to the residents of the city from the hot and humid weather. The maximum temperature recorded in the national capital was 41.6 degree celcius, and the minimum temperature was 27.7 degree celcius today.
