Praveen Sood gets one-year extension as CBI director

New Delhi, May 14, 2026 : The government has given a one-year extension to the Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Praveen Sood. According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet gave its nod for the extension to Mr Sood as Director of the Investigation Agency beyond the 24th of this month.
