Bye-election trends: BJP leading in 5 out of seven assembly constituencies

New Delhi, May 04, 2026 : Counting of votes for the Bye Elections in seven Assembly Constituencies across five States is also underway. As per the latest trends, BJP is leading in five constituencies, while Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) are leading in one seat each.

In Karnataka, Shrinivasa T Dasakariyappa of BJP is leading in the Devanagere-South Constituency, while in Bagalkot, Congress candidate, Umesh Hullappa Meti is leading by more than 10 thousand votes. In Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar of NCP is maintaining a lead of more than 53 thousand votes, in the Baramati Constituency. While in Rahuri, Akshay Shivajirao Kardile of BJP is in the lead.

In Umreth Constituency of Gujarat, Harshadbhai Govindbhai Parmar of BJP is leading by more than 50 thousand votes. While in Dharmanagar of Tripura, BJP’s Jahar Chakraborti is maintaining a lead of almost 18 thousand votes. And in Nagaland, Daochier I Imchen of BJP is leading in the Koridang Assembly Constituency.
