Vikram Doraiswami appointed as India’s new Ambassador to China

New Delhi, Mar 19, 2026 : Senior diplomat Vikram Doraiswami has been appointed as India’s new ambassador to China. Mr Doraiswami, who is a 1992 batch Indian Foreign Service officer is currently serving as Indian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. He will succeed Pradeep Kumar Rawat. Announcing the appointment, Ministry of External Affairs said, Mr Doraiswami is expected to take up the assignment shortly.
