PM launches nationwide HPV vaccination programme for girls aged 14 years
New Delhi, Feb 28, 2026 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a nationwide campaign for Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination for girls aged 14 years. This initiative aims to prevent cervical cancer, which is one of the leading causes of cancer-related morbidity in women and marks a significant milestone in safeguarding the long-term health of girls and women across the country.
In the presence of the Prime Minister, the campaign was launched by administering the HPV vaccine to five girls. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma was also present on the occasion. After the vaccination, the Prime Minister also interacted with the girls.
