SACHIN TENDULKAR INVITES PRESIDENT MURMU, PM MODI TO SON ARJUN’S WEDDING

New Delhi, Feb 11, 2026 : Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar on Tuesday met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan to formally invite her to the wedding of his son, Arjun Tendulkar, and Saaniya Chandhok. The wedding is scheduled to take place in early March.

Tendulkar was accompanied by his family and members of Saaniya’s family during the visit.

Sharing a picture from the meeting on X, he said, “Last February, Hon’ble President Smt. Droupadi Murmu ji graciously hosted us at Rashtrapati Bhavan. We relived some of those cherished memories when we met the President today to invite her to Arjun and Saaniya’s wedding. Thank you for your warm wishes, Hon’ble President.”

Tendulkar also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to extend invitations for the wedding.

Sharing photographs from his meeting with the Prime Minister, he said, “We were honoured to invite Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji to Arjun and Saaniya’s wedding. Thank you, Modi ji, for your blessings and thoughtful advice for the young couple.”

After meeting Shah, Tendulkar said, “We cordially invited Hon’ble Home Minister Shri @AmitShah ji to Arjun and Saaniya’s wedding. Thank you for the warmth extended to our family. We deeply appreciate your kind wishes.”

Arjun Tendulkar and Saaniya Chandhok got engaged in August last year in a private ceremony attended by close family and friends. The wedding festivities are set to begin on March 3, with the main ceremony scheduled for March 5. The event is expected to be a low-key affair, with attendance limited to close relatives and friends.

Saaniya Chandhok is an entrepreneur and a trained veterinary technician. She is also the granddaughter of Mumbai-based businessman Ravi Ghai.

The wedding is expected to bring together prominent personalities from the cricketing, political, and business circles.
