REPUBLIC DAY 2026: 30 TABLEAUX TO ROLL DOWN KARTAVYA PATH

New Delhi, Jan 23, 2026 : A total of 30 tableaux – 17 from States and Union Territories and 13 from various Ministries, Departments and Services – will roll down Kartavya Path in New Delhi during the 77th Republic Day Parade on January 26, the Defence Ministry said on Thursday.

The tableaux will reflect the broad themes of ‘Swatantrata ka Mantra: Vande Mataram’ and ‘Samriddhi ka Mantra: Aatmanirbhar Bharat’, celebrating 150 years of the national song Vande Mataram while highlighting India’s rapid progress driven by self-reliance across sectors. Together, they will present a vibrant blend of the nation’s cultural diversity, freedom struggle and contemporary achievements.

Among the States and Union Territories, Assam will showcase the Asharikandi terracotta craft village, while Chhattisgarh’s tableau will highlight Vande Mataram as the mantra of freedom. Gujarat will focus on the idea of swadeshi and self-reliance, and Himachal Pradesh will present its identity as Dev Bhoomi and Veer Bhoomi. Jammu and Kashmir’s tableau will depict its rich handicrafts and folk dances.

Kerala will highlight its Water Metro project and achievement of 100 per cent digital literacy under the theme of Aatmanirbhar Kerala for Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Maharashtra will showcase Ganeshotsav as a symbol of self-reliance, while Manipur will depict its journey from agricultural fields to international markets. Nagaland’s tableau will celebrate the Hornbill Festival, focusing on culture, tourism and self-reliance.

Odisha will present ‘Soil to Silicon: Rooted in Tradition, Rising with Innovation’, Puducherry will highlight its rich craft and cultural heritage along with Auroville’s vision, and Rajasthan will showcase the Bikaner Gold (Usta) art. Tamil Nadu’s theme will be Mantra of Prosperity: Self-Reliant India, Uttar Pradesh will focus on the culture of Bundelkhand, and West Bengal will highlight Bengal’s role in India’s freedom movement. Madhya Pradesh’s tableau will pay tribute to Punyashlok Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, while Punjab will commemorate the 350th year of the martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji.

Among the Ministries and Services, the Air Headquarters will present a Veteran Tableau on nation-building through war, while the Naval Headquarters’ tableau titled ‘Samudra Se Samriddhi’ will underline the role of the seas in national prosperity. The Department of Military Affairs will showcase a Tri-Services tableau themed ‘Operation Sindoor: Victory through Jointness’.

The Ministry of Culture’s tableau will depict ‘Vande Mataram – The Soul Cry of a Nation’. The Department of School Education and Literacy will highlight the National Education Policy 2020 and its role in advancing school education towards Viksit Bharat. The Ministry of AYUSH will present ‘AYUSH ka Tantra, Swasthya ka Mantra’.

The Ministry of Home Affairs will present two tableaux – one by NDMA and NDRF marking 25 years of resilience since the Bhuj earthquake, and another by BPRD showcasing the Jan Kendrit Nyay Pranali following the enactment of the three new criminal laws in 2023. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (CPWD) will commemorate 150 years of Vande Mataram, while the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will present ‘Bharat Katha: Shruti, Kriti, Drishti’.

Other tableaux include the Ministry of Panchayati Raj highlighting the SVAMITVA scheme for empowered and self-reliant panchayats, the Ministry of Power showcasing ‘Prakash Ganga: Powering an Aatmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat’, and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship presenting ‘Powered by Skills: Building a Self-Reliant, Future-Ready India’.
