President, Vice President extend Statehood Day greetings
New Delhi, Jan 21, 2026 : President Droupadi Murmu has extended greetings to the people of Meghalaya, Tripura and Manipur on their Statehood Day. In a social media post, President Murmu said that the states are blessed with a rich cultural legacy, vibrant traditions and extraordinary natural beauty. The President said the enterprising and talented people of these States have made remarkable contributions to the nation’s progress. She wished the residents a future filled with peace and prosperity.
Vice President CP Radhakrishnan also extended his greetings to the people of Meghalaya, Tripura and Manipur on their statehood day. In a social media post, the Vice President said these states have strengthened the fabric of India with their rich cultural legacy, unique traditions, linguistic diversity and enterprising people. Mr Radhakrishnan expressed hope that these vibrant states continue to contribute to the country’s progress through inclusive growth, cultural richness and sustainable development.
