New Delhi, Jan 06, 2026 : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange colour warning for dense to very dense fog conditions in Madhya Pradesh and Bihar today.

According to IMD, similar conditions will continue to prevail over Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and the North-eastern parts of India for the next two to three days. The weather agency has also predicted cold wave conditions at isolated places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim and Chhattisgarh, till tomorrow.

Minimum temperatures are expected to gradually fall by 2 to 3 degree celsius over Northwest India during the next four days and over Central and East India during the next two days. Meanwhile, the air quality in Delhi-NCR continues to be in the poor category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the average Air Quality Index (AQI) of the National Capital was recorded at 286 as of 7 AM today.
