Kerala receives over 1.21 lakh requests for updates and corrections following draft voter list release
New Delhi, Jan 03, 2026 : The process of issuing notices for hearings as part of the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Kerala is progressing. Notices have been issued after the release of the draft voter list.
The revision process has already seen a significant number of applications. Since the publication of the draft electoral rolls, over 1 lakh 21 thousand applications have been received, seeking various updates and corrections to the list.
Among these, 96 thousand 785 applications have been submitted for the inclusion of first-time voters, who have turned 18, or for name transfers from one constituency to another. Additionally, a total of 24 thousand 772 applications have been received from Indian citizens living abroad, requesting the inclusion of their names in the electoral rolls.
Another noteworthy figure is the 444 applications submitted for the removal of names from the voter list, indicating efforts to clean and update the records.
