INDIGO FLIGHTS MAY CONTINUE TO FACE DELAYS: DELHI AIRPORT

New Delhi, Dec 08, 2025 : Delhi Airport on Monday issued a passenger advisory stating that IndiGo flights may continue to experience delays, urging travellers to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.

In a post on X, the airport said, “IndiGo flights may continue to experience delays. Passengers are advised to check the latest flight status with their airline before heading to the airport to avoid any inconvenience.”

The airport added that its teams are coordinating with all stakeholders to minimise disruptions and ensure smoother operations.

“Our teams are working closely with all stakeholders to minimise disruptions and ensure a smooth travel experience. For assistance, including medical support, please visit the information desk where our on-ground staff is ready to help,” Delhi Airport said.

The advisory also highlighted that multiple public transport options—including metro, buses, and cabs—are available for easy transit to and from the airport.

“For real-time updates and important information, please visit our official website,” it added.

Meanwhile, IndiGo has processed refunds amounting to Rs 610 crore after the government directed the airline to complete all pending refunds for cancelled or severely delayed flights by 8 p.m. on Sunday, the Ministry of Civil Aviation said earlier.

According to the ministry, airlines are not permitted to charge additional fees for rescheduling travel affected by cancellations. Dedicated support cells have been set up to assist passengers and ensure refund and rebooking issues are resolved promptly.

The ministry noted that IndiGo’s operations have shown steady improvement, with flight schedules gradually returning to normal.

In response to a temporary surge in airfares triggered by recent cancellations, the government also intervened and imposed an immediate cap on ticket prices. The measure aims to maintain fairness and affordability for passengers. Since the cap was introduced, fares on affected routes have moderated to acceptable levels. All airlines have been instructed to strictly comply with the revised fare structure.

Additionally, IndiGo was directed to trace and return all baggage separated from passengers due to disruptions within 48 hours, with continuous communication throughout the process. As of Saturday, the airline has successfully delivered 3,000 pieces of baggage across India.
