Government denies viral video claiming Army Chief made anti-army remarks

New Delhi, Nov 17, 2025 : The government has refuted the video circulating on social media that claims the Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, has given statements against the Indian Army. In the viral video, General Dwivedi was claiming that non caste Hindu soldiers are being removed from the Army under orders from the central government. The fact unit of the Press Information Bureau clarified that the video is AI-generated and is being circulated to mislead people. The unit further informed that neither the Chief of the Army Staff has made any such statement, nor has the government passed any such orders.

The government has also urged citizens to be cautious of such misinformation and verify it from official sources before believing or sharing it.
