IMD predicts heavy rainfall in Northeast

New Delhi, Nov 05, 2025 : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today.

The Met Department also predicted thunderstorms and lightning over Andhra Pradesh, Interior Karnataka, Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra. Similar conditions are expected in Northeast India over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

According to IMD, squally winds gusting to 55 kmph are likely to prevail over Andaman Sea, some parts of east-central Bay of Bengal, Myanmar coasts and some parts of Northeast Bay of Bengal.

Meanwhile, the air quality in the Delhi-NCR region has been registered in the poor category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, an average Air Quality Index (AQI) of 233 was recorded at 7 AM today.
