ECI ACTIVATES 1950 VOTER HELPLINE AND ‘BOOK-A-CALL WITH BLO’ FEATURE
New Delhi, Oct 30, 2025 : The Election Commission of India (ECI) has strengthened its voter outreach and grievance redressal system by activating the National Voter Helpline – 1950 – along with all 36 State and District-level helplines across the country. These initiatives aim to provide citizens with easy access to electoral information and prompt resolution of election-related queries and complaints.
The National Contact Centre (NCC) will function as the central helpline for all States and Union Territories, operating daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM through the toll-free number 1800-11-1950. Trained executives will handle calls and assist citizens with voter registration, electoral roll corrections, polling information, and other election-related services.
To ensure localized support, the ECI has directed each State, UT, and District to establish State Contact Centres (SCCs) and District Contact Centres (DCCs). These centres operate during office hours on all working days and provide assistance in regional languages, enabling citizens to receive timely and context-specific help.
All complaints and queries will be registered and tracked through the National Grievance Service Portal (NGSP 2.0), ensuring transparency and accountability in grievance redressal.
In a significant digital push, the ECI has also introduced the ‘Book-a-Call with BLO’ feature, available on the ECINET platform, allowing citizens to directly connect with their respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs) for voter-related assistance. Citizens can also use the ECINET App to communicate with election officials.
The Commission has instructed Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs), District Election Officers (DEOs), and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) to monitor responses and ensure disposal of user requests within 48 hours.
In addition to the helplines, citizens can also send election-related complaints and feedback via email at [email protected].
