West Bengal: CEO office deletes hundreds of suspected Bangladeshi names

New Delhi, Oct 17, 2025 : The office of the Chief Electoral Officer, West Bengal, has deleted more than a hundred names from the voters’ list in West Bengal from June to September this year.

These names are believed to be Bangladeshi nationals. The Foreigner Regional Registration Office has identified 112 Bangladeshis from 10 districts of West Bengal.

Investigation is ongoing against 750 individuals. The possession of an Indian voter card by Bangladeshi nationals is reported from Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi airports.
