MAY GODDESS BRAHMACHARINI BLESS EVERYONE WITH COURAGE, RESTRAINT: PM MODI
New Delhi, Sep 23, 2025 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings on the second day of Shardiya Navratri, dedicated to Goddess Brahmacharini, praying for courage and restraint for all devotees.
In a post on X, PM Modi said, “On this Navratri, today, millions of salutations at the feet of Mother Brahmacharini! May the Goddess bless all her devotees with courage and restraint.” He also shared a devotional song dedicated to the Goddess, featuring visuals of her Brahmacharini form.
Literally meaning “devoted female student,” Brahmacharini is the second form of Navdurga, an avatar of Goddess Parvati. She is depicted wearing a white sari, holding a rosary (japamala) in her right hand and a water pot (kamandalu) in her left. Her white attire signifies purity, and her form embodies spiritual discipline and devotion.
Goddess Brahmacharini is believed to reside in the Svadhishthana Chakra. She represents an unmarried status, and her white color symbolizes purity. Carrying a japamala and kamandalu, her form embodies spiritual discipline and penance.
Shardiya Navratri began on September 22 and will continue until October 2. Each day is dedicated to a different incarnation of Goddess Durga. The nine-day festival honors the nine forms of the Goddess, with devotees observing special prayers, rituals, and fasts. Temples across the country saw large crowds, with devotees lining up from early morning.
