Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma urges Amit Shah to expedite ILP implementation

New Delhi, Sep 05, 2025 : Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma has urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to expedite the implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the state to curb illegal immigration and infiltration from across the Bangladesh border. Chief Minister Sangma met Mr Shah in New Delhi yesterday. During their meeting, the Chief Minister emphasised the need for stronger border management and infrastructure, alongside mechanisms to check illegal migration.
