YOUTH WILL GET NEW OPPORTUNITY THROUGH PRIME MINISTER DEVELOPED INDIA EMPLOYMENT SCHEME

New Delhi, Aug 18, 2025 : With the aim of providing more employment and social security to the youth in the country, the central government has taken a historic step. The Union Cabinet approved the Employment Linked Incentive Scheme on 1 July 2025, which has been named Pradhan Mantri Vikasit Bharat Rojgar Yojana. This scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 15 August 2025 during his 12th Independence Day address from the Red Fort.

Objective of the scheme

•To create more than 3.5 crore jobs in 2 years.

•To increase the employability of youth and provide them social security.

•A provision of approximately Rs 1 lakh crore has been made for this.

When and how will you get the benefit of the scheme

•This scheme will be applicable to jobs created between August 1, 2025 and July 31, 2027.

•The portal of the scheme (https://pmvbry.epfindia.gov.in or https://pmvbry.labour.gov.in) has gone live today from August 18.

•Employers can do one-time registration on this portal.

•For first time job seekers, UAN (Universal Account Number) will be generated on UMANG App through Face Authentication Technology (FAT).

There are two major parts of the plan

Part A – For Employees

•Youth working for the first time will get an incentive of up to Rs.15,000 as an incentive.

•This amount will be given in two installments.

•Those whose gross salary is up to Rs.1 lakh will be eligible for this.

Part B – For Employers

•Employers will get an incentive of up to Rs.3000 per month for every additional employee (first time or re-joining).

•This incentive will generally be given for 2 years and for 4 years in the manufacturing sector.

•The benefit will be available only if the employee remains in the job for at least 6 months.

Eligibility Conditions

•Establishments that have less than 50 employees will have to hire at least 2 new employees.

•Those who have 50 or more employees will have to hire at least 5 new employees.

•Exempted Establishments will also be included under this scheme and it will be mandatory for them to open UAN for all their employees.

Prime Minister Vikasit Bharat Rojgar Yojana will not only provide new employment opportunities to the youth but will also give impetus to the country's economy and will further strengthen the resolve of Make in India and self-reliant India.
