Farmers thank PM Modi for resisting foreign pressure

New Delhi, Aug 13, 2025 : Farmers from across the country have thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his bold decision in trade agreements despite foreign pressure.

A large gathering of farmer organisation leaders and cultivators met with Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in New Delhi yesterday to express gratitude and support for government’s decisive action to protect farmers’ interests.

Akashvani correspondent reports, during an interaction, Shivraj Singh Chouhan reiterated that government will soon introduce a new law against those producing fake fertilisers and chemicals.

He said this while interacting with farmer organisation leaders and cultivators from across the country in New Delhi.

Mentioning about digital payment of insurance amounts being disbursed to farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, the Minister said that various schemes for farmers’ welfare are being advanced on priority.

Highlighting the important role of farmers, Mr Chouhan said that the farmers work day and night, not just to feed India, but to feed the world.

He further added that the farmer is both the provider and the giver of life, and serving farmers is worship of God, and there is no greater worship than this.
