Agricultural markets integrated with e-NAM

New Delhi, Jul 29, 2025 : 1,522 Mandis have been integrated with the National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) portal, with a trade volume of 12.03 crore metric tonnes (MT) of various agricultural commodities and 49.15 crore units of countable commodities like coconut, betel leaf, sweet corn, citrus and bamboo as on 30.6.2025. Trade worth ?4,39,941 crore has been recorded on the e-NAM platform. State-wise details of trade volume and value since inception are given at Annexure.

To encourage small and marginal farmers, especially those in rural areas, to actively participate in the e-NAM platform, the Government has taken various initiatives. Training programmes are organised for farmers and stakeholders at each e-NAM Mandi. The platform has been made accessible through web and mobile applications. In addition, tutorial materials have been made available through social media channels to enhance digital access.

As on date, more than 1.79 crore farmers and 4,518 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) are registered on e-NAM. These include 12,41,854 farmers and 354 FPOs registered in Maharashtra. In Hingoli district, three Agricultural Produce Market Committees (APMCs) located at Basmat, Hingoli and Sengaon are on e-NAM. Out of 28,197 farmers registered in these committees, 10,437 farmers have traded on e-NAM.

Agricultural marketing is a state subject. It is the responsibility of the state governments to liberalise trade licences and ensure seamless inter-state trade. Some states are promoting inter-state trade through e-NAM by liberalising licensing norms, allowing all e-NAM registered buyers to bid in mandis. A toll-free helpline (18002700224) has been set up under e-NAM to address complaints of users including farmers. The volume of inter-state trade in the last 3 years has been Rs 67,29,72,855 crore.

Currently, 238 commodities have been notified for online auction on e-NAM. Requests for adding new commodities are received regularly from the States and are examined by the Directorate of Marketing and Inspection (DMI) for proper inclusion. The process of adding goods and services is actively underway.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Ram Nath Thakur, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
