Tripura’s four railway stations are set to be upgraded to world-class standards under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, as part of a larger initiative to modernize railway infrastructure across Northeast India. The project aims to introduce modern designs, state-of-the-art facilities, and improved connectivity in the region.

Although the Ministry of Railways announced this scheme two years ago, work had not begun until now. However, the ministry has recently reiterated its commitment to transforming railway stations in Tripura under this scheme.

The estimated costs for station redevelopment are as follows:

Udaipur – ₹33.8 crore

Dharmanagar – ₹32.6 crore

Kumarghat – ₹30.2 crore

Agartala – ₹35 crore

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will oversee the implementation of this ambitious project, ensuring that these stations are upgraded to provide world-class facilities for passengers.
