The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tripura has once again reiterated its opposition to the demand for a separate state or ‘Greater Tipraland’ raised by its ally, Tipra Motha, and the Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT).

Speaking on a live news program of a North-East-based TV channel, Cabinet Minister and Tripura government spokesperson Sushanta Chowdhury stated that the BJP remains firmly against the division of Tripura. He emphasized that the party strongly opposes the creation of "Greater Tipraland" or "Tipraland," as demanded by Tipra Motha and IPFT.

This statement comes in response to recent remarks by Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma and BJP-allied minister Shukla Charan Noatia, who reaffirmed their stance of not backing down from the demand for a separate Tipraland. They reiterated that this remains a core issue for their party.
