The picturesque Jampui Hills of North Tripura, popularly known as the 'Hills of Eternal Spring', are preparing to host the first-ever Jampui Poetry and Tourism Festival 2026 on November 28 and 29.

Jointly organised by Agartala-based Ramdhanu and Maitree Sansad, the two-day festival will bring together around 150–200 poets, writers, artists, intellectuals and cultural personalities from different parts of Tripura.

The festival will feature poetry recitations, storytelling, literary discussions, cultural performances, felicitation programmes and opportunities to explore the natural beauty, indigenous traditions and traditional cuisine of Jampui Hills.

Located in Kanchanpur subdivision of North Tripura, Jampui Hills is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, pleasant November weather, spectacular sunrises and sunsets, and the rich cultural heritage of Mizo and Reang communities. Betlingchhip, Tripura's highest peak, is another major attraction of the region.

Following the successful organisation of the Chabimura Poetry and Tourism Festival last year, the organisers are taking the initiative to Jampui Hills to promote literary tourism and showcase Tripura's indigenous culture.

Organisers Kaushik Bhowmik and eminent educationist Dr. Debabrata Deb Roy have invited poets, writers and cultural personalities to participate in the festival.

The event is expected to provide a refreshing cultural experience immediately after the November 27 civic polls, offering visitors an opportunity to reconnect with nature, literature and Tripura's traditional heritage.
