Serious allegations of examination irregularities have surfaced at the Sachindra Nagar School examination centre in Jirania, designated for the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) examinations, raising concerns about the integrity and transparency of the examination process.

According to allegations, a third-party racket has been managing several examination-related activities at the centre, including the handling and distribution of question papers and the dispatch of answer scripts. The alleged involvement of external operators in these sensitive procedures has triggered demands for an impartial and high-level investigation.

Questions have also been raised over the absence of the school’s examination in-charge during the examination held on Monday. In the absence of the designated official, another school staff member reportedly received the question papers and distributed them among the candidates. The circumstances surrounding this arrangement have raised concerns about whether established examination protocols were properly followed.

More seriously, allegations have emerged that some candidates submitted completely blank OMR answer sheets, which could allegedly be filled in at a later stage. It has further been alleged that completed answer sheets are being dispatched to the open schooling authorities through the post office under the alleged control of the third-party operators.

If substantiated, these allegations would indicate serious breaches of examination security and could undermine the credibility of the entire examination process. The possibility of answer sheets being altered after submission raises particular concerns about the fairness of evaluation and the protection of deserving candidates.

Sources have also alleged that similar examination-related irregularities and suspected paper-leak activities have been continuing across different parts of Tripura for a considerable period. However, the veracity and extent of these allegations remain to be independently established.

The alleged involvement of an organised third-party network in examination management, if confirmed, would raise serious questions about the supervision and accountability of the authorities responsible for conducting open board examinations.

Concerned citizens and stakeholders are now calling for a comprehensive investigation into the alleged racket, including the handling of question papers, the distribution and collection of OMR sheets, the dispatch of answer scripts, and the possible involvement of officials or intermediaries.
