Tripura Sports Department Issues Corrigendum for 301 Junior Physical Instructor Posts, Revises Category-Wise Women's Reservation

The Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Tripura, has issued a corrigendum revising the category-wise vacancy distribution and reservation details for the recruitment of 301 Junior Physical Instructors (Group-C). The corrigendum was issued on October 30, 2026, in partial modification of the original employment advertisement dated February 7, 2025.

According to the latest notification, the total number of vacancies remains unchanged at 301, including 13 posts reserved for Persons with Disabilities (PwD/PH). However, the department has specified the revised distribution of vacancies among the Unreserved (UR), Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories, along with 33 per cent reservation for women.

As per the revised details, 248 posts fall under the UR category, 35 posts under the SC category and 18 posts under the ST category. The category-wise distribution also includes 33 per cent reservation for women, corresponding to 82 posts in the UR category, 12 posts in the SC category and 6 posts in the ST category. Thus, the total number of posts earmarked under the women's reservation provision stands at 100.

The notification also mentions ex-servicemen reservation within the respective categories. Three posts under UR, one under SC and two under ST have been indicated as reserved for ex-servicemen.

The recruitment is for the post of Junior Physical Instructor under the Directorate of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Tripura. The original advertisement was published on February 7, 2025, and the recruitment process subsequently progressed to the written examination, which was conducted on February 28, 2026.

The latest corrigendum does not announce any increase in the number of vacancies or a fresh recruitment process. Instead, it modifies the earlier advertisement by providing the revised category-wise distribution and reservation details. The department has clearly stated that all other terms and conditions of the original advertisement will remain unchanged.
