Tripura Government Transfers Seven TCS Officers, Including Three SDMs, Ahead of Civic Body Elections

The Tripura Government has ordered a fresh administrative reshuffle involving seven Tripura Civil Service (TCS) officers, including three Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), through a notification issued by the General Administration (Personnel & Training) Department on October 29, 2026.

The transfers and new postings have been ordered by the Governor in the interest of public service with immediate effect and until further orders. The reshuffle involves changes in the administration of several subdivisions, municipal bodies, land records and settlement, and the Revenue Department Ahead of the Tripura Civic Body Elections.

According to the notification, Smt. Ringku Reang, TCS Grade-I, who was serving as SDM, Ambassa, and CEO of Ambassa Municipal Council, has been transferred and posted as Joint Director in the Directorate of Urban Development Department, Agartala. Shri Sushanta Debbarma, TCS Grade-I, who was holding the positions of SDM, Panisagar, and Executive Officer of Panisagar Nagar Panchayat, has been posted as Joint Director, Land Records and Settlement, Agartala.

Shri Raju Deb, TCS Grade-I, who was serving as SDM, Sonamura, with additional charges as CEO of Melaghar Municipal Council and Executive Officer of Sonamura Nagar Panchayat, has been transferred and posted as Joint Secretary, Revenue Department, with additional charge as Registrar, LAR & RA.

Shri Kamal Debbarma, TCS Grade-I, who was serving as Joint Director, Land Records and Settlement, Agartala, has been appointed SDM, Ambassa, with additional charge as CEO of Ambassa Municipal Council. Shri David L. Halam, TCS Grade-I, who was serving as Additional SDM, Kumarghat, has been posted as SDM, Panisagar, with additional charge as Executive Officer of Panisagar Nagar Panchayat.

Similarly, Shri Rupon Das, TCS Grade-I, who was serving as Deputy Secretary, Revenue Department, with additional charge as Registrar, LAR & RA, has been transferred and posted as SDM, Sonamura, with additional charges as CEO of Melaghar Municipal Council and Executive Officer of Sonamura Nagar Panchayat.

Meanwhile, Smt. Kaberi Nath, TCS Grade-II, who was serving as Deputy Director in the Directorate of Economics and Statistics & Monitoring and Evaluation, Tripura, Agartala, has been transferred and appointed Deputy Collector and Magistrate (DCM), Kumarghat, with additional charge as Deputy CEO of Kumarghat Municipal Council.

The latest administrative reshuffle is significant as it involves changes in three important subdivisions—Ambassa, Panisagar and Sonamura—along with key responsibilities in municipal administration, land records, revenue management and other government departments.

The notification, bearing No. F.2(13)-GA (P&T)/2016, was issued on October 29, 2026, by the General Administration (Personnel & Training) Department, Government of Tripura, by order of the Governor. The new assignments have come into effect immediately and will remain in force until further orders.
