Police constable suspended after being caught in compromising condition on vehicle with female colleague

As in the rest of the state and in general administration, the state police department also seems to be increasingly affected by acts of indiscipline and dereliction of duty on the part of a section of employees. This is borne out by the suspension of a constable posted in Kakbrabon police station after he was caught red-handed by common people in a highly compromising condition with a female colleague on a vehicle near Ampi area under Amarpur subdivision on last Monday night . Interestingly , the people who caught the two constables included the male constable’s wife. The duo had been moving on the vehicle after skipping duty. The male constable has been put under suspension by the SP (Gomati) Anirban Das.

Giving details of what had happened sources in police said that Priyotosh Rudrapaul, originally a resident of Ampi area was posted as constable in Kakrabon police station in Udaipur subdivision. Despite being married Priyotosh had developed an illicit affair with a female constable Tokhmoni Debbarma posted in R.K.Pur police station. Priyotosh was to be on duty in the Kakrabon police station on Monday night but by giving a slip to his duty he took a vehicle and picked up his paramour Tokhkmoni Debbarma on it from R.K.Pur police station and started moving around the Ampi area at night . This caught the attention of people in Ampi area where Priyotosh’s parental and in-laws homes are located and the people caught the duo red-handed in a highly compromised condition inside the vehicle parked beside the road.

Sources said that after being informed of the matter police personnel from Ampi police station reached the spot and took both Priyotosh and Tokhmoni to the police station . Tokhmoni was released on personal bond from the police station but Priyotosh was kept and the police authority in Gomati district was informed of the matter. Subsequently , Priyotosh was put under suspension for dereliction of duty by the SP (Gomati) Anirban Das though he was not arrested in the absence of what is called a cognizable offence. The female constable Tokhmoni Debbarma has been let off with a stern rebuke and warning.
