Tipra Motha MLA Ranjit Debbarma has approached Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, seeking appropriate action against Amitabha Paul, Superintendent of Police (SP), Security, Government of Tripura, alleging administrative bias, discriminatory treatment, irregularities in police personnel transfers and financial corruption in the functioning of the Security Wing.
In a representation dated October 27, 2026, submitted to the Governor at Lok Bhavan in Agartala, the MLA from the 24-Ramchandraghat Assembly constituency alleged that the SP Security had been functioning in a partisan manner and had transferred personal security officers (PSOs) assigned to him without prior consultation or information. Debbarma also alleged that some police personnel had continued to enjoy favourable postings for years, while others remained deployed in difficult locations.
According to Debbarma, there is no effectively implemented transfer policy governing police personnel in the Security Wing. He alleged that certain personnel had remained in their postings for more than three years, with some allegedly continuing in the same positions for eight to ten years, while other personnel were deprived of comparable facilities and posted in less favourable locations. He has called for an impartial examination of the alleged disparity in transfers and postings.
The MLA further alleged that changes in the PSOs assigned to him were made despite there being no complaint from either side. He claimed that the repeated transfers had caused him unnecessary psychological pressure and sought the Governor's intervention to ensure that security arrangements were administered fairly and transparently.
