Tripura’s school education sector has earned significant recognition at the national and state levels, with several prominent institutions securing impressive positions in the 2026–27 school rankings. Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Viveknagar, Agartala, has achieved a notable milestone by securing 20th rank nationally in the Boys’ Day School category, standing out among approximately 18,000 schools across India.
The achievement highlights the growing reputation of Tripura’s educational institutions and their continued efforts to maintain high academic standards, promote discipline and provide quality education to students.
In the Co-ed Day School category in Tripura for 2026–27, St. Paul’s School secured the first position, followed by DWPS Agartala in second place and Sri Krishna Mission School in third place.
Bhavan’s Tripura Vidya Mandir and Don Bosco School, Agartala, jointly secured fourth position, while Pranavananda Vidyamandir School earned fifth place in the state rankings.
The rankings reflect the contributions of teachers, students, school managements and supporting staff towards building an effective learning environment. The achievements also underline the importance of academic commitment, institutional leadership, extracurricular development and a strong educational foundation in shaping students’ futures.
The EducationWorld India School Rankings (EWISR) 2026–27 Awards were held from October 22 to 24, 2026, at the Pullman, Aerocity, New Delhi, celebrating excellence, outstanding leadership and innovation in school education across India. Among the major highlights, Vasant Valley School, Delhi, was named India’s Best Day School, earning a prestigious five-star rating and the Best of the Best – Ivy League Award. The awards recognised leading educational institutions for their academic excellence, quality of education, leadership and commitment to preparing students for the future.
Tripura's Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya’s national-level performance is particularly noteworthy for Tripura, a relatively small state in Northeast India. Its position among the country’s leading boys’ day schools demonstrates the potential of educational institutions in the region to compete with established schools elsewhere in India.
The strong performance of schools across the state also brings renewed attention to Tripura’s educational landscape. Institutions such as St. Paul’s School, DWPS Agartala, Sri Krishna Mission School, Bhavan’s Tripura Vidya Mandir, Don Bosco School and Pranavananda Vidyamandir continue to contribute to the state’s academic environment.
These achievements are a source of encouragement for students, parents and educators alike. They reinforce the need to continue investing in quality teaching, modern learning facilities, character development and opportunities that enable students to excel in competitive examinations and pursue higher education at national and international levels.
As Tripura continues to strengthen its educational infrastructure, the recognition earned by these institutions serves as a reminder that geographical constraints need not limit academic ambition. With sustained commitment from educators, families and policymakers, the state has the potential to further enhance its standing in school education.
The latest rankings therefore represent not merely institutional achievements, but also an encouraging moment for Tripura’s broader aspiration to emerge as a centre of educational excellence in the Northeast.
