The Sabroom Nagar Panchayat in South Tripura has published the results of the written examination for recruitment to the post of Ward Secretary (Group-C, Non-Gazetted), provisionally shortlisting eight candidates for the interview and document verification process. However, the publication of the results nearly seven months after the written examination has raised questions among aspirants over the prolonged delay and the transparency of the recruitment process.

According to an official notification dated October 19, 2026, issued by the Office of the Sabroom Nagar Panchayat, the written examination was held on March 22, 2026. The notification lists eight roll numbers of candidates provisionally shortlisted for the next stage of recruitment. The candidates are required to fulfil all prescribed eligibility conditions and undergo verification of their original documents before their candidature can be finally considered.

The notification does not provide any explanation for the time taken to publish the written examination results. The delay may prompt candidates to seek clarification from the recruiting authority regarding the timeline and the steps followed in finalising the results.

The following roll numbers have been provisionally shortlisted for the interview:

015, 044, 052, 060, 098, 100, 136 and 154.

The interview is scheduled to be held on October 30, 2026, from 10:00 AM onwards at the Conference Hall of the Sabroom Nagar Panchayat Office, Sabroom, South Tripura.

Document Submission Deadline October 28

As per the notification, all shortlisted candidates must submit self-attested copies of the required documents and certificates at the reception counter of the Sabroom Nagar Panchayat Office during office hours on or before October 28, 2026.

The recruiting authority has cautioned that candidates who fail to submit the required documents within the stipulated deadline may face summary rejection of their candidature. The notification also states that no application, representation or correspondence regarding the matter will be entertained after the prescribed deadline.

The shortlisting remains provisional and is subject to verification of candidates' eligibility and original documents at the appropriate stage.

The gap between the written examination held on March 22 and the publication of the shortlist on October 19 is likely to draw the attention of job aspirants, particularly in a state where government recruitment processes are closely followed by unemployed youth.
