A cryptic social media post by senior BJP leader Subal Bhowmik during the ongoing Durga Puja festivities has triggered fresh political speculation in Tripura, with questions being raised about his relationship with the ruling party and the possibility of another political move.

On Saptami, Bhowmik shared a thought-provoking message on Facebook that appeared to carry a deeper meaning beyond the customary festive greetings. His post has attracted attention amid reports that he has been largely absent from BJP's organisational programmes and public campaigns in recent months.

In his Facebook post, Bhowmik wrote in Bengali: “Chitta jetha bhoyshunyo, system sekhane jhora pata, chetona uday hok.” He followed the message by extending his greetings and best wishes to everyone on the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja Saptami.

The opening lines of the post, however, have become the focus of political discussion. The message, which invokes the idea of a fearless mind while describing the system as fallen leaves, has prompted questions about whom Bhowmik was addressing and what prompted him to make such a statement at this particular time.

The phrase “chetona uday hok” (let consciousness awaken) has fuelled speculation about whether the BJP leader was indirectly expressing dissatisfaction with the existing political or organisational system. However, Bhowmik has not publicly clarified the intended meaning of his post, and there has been no official confirmation that the message was directed at the BJP leadership.

The timing of the post has added to the intrigue. While political leaders routinely use social media to convey festive greetings, Bhowmik's choice of words has drawn attention because of his reported absence from party activities over the past several months.

Political observers are closely watching Bhowmik's next move, particularly as he has reportedly not been seen at several BJP campaigns and organisational programmes in recent months. His name is also reportedly absent from the party's new organisational committee.

These developments have raised questions about his current standing within the BJP and whether differences have emerged over organisational responsibilities or other political issues.

Bhowmik's political trajectory has previously attracted considerable attention in Tripura. Any indication of a change in his political alignment would therefore be significant, although his latest Facebook post alone does not establish that he intends to leave the party.

The central question now being discussed in political circles is whether Bhowmik's post reflects personal disappointment, an indirect criticism of the prevailing system, or simply a philosophical message shared on a religious occasion.

Speculation about a possible political shift has gained momentum because of his reported prolonged absence from party programmes and his exclusion from the new organisational committee. Nevertheless, no formal announcement has been made by Bhowmik regarding his political future.

Neither the BJP leadership nor Bhowmik has publicly confirmed any organisational dispute in connection with the post.

For now, his Saptami message has left political observers searching for clues about its intended meaning. Whether it signals an expression of personal discontent or foreshadows a larger political development remains uncertain.
