An air ambulance carrying a critically ill patient and six other persons from Agartala to Kolkata was forced to make an emergency landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka after the aircraft’s door reportedly opened during the flight, triggering an emergency situation.

The incident occurred during the Durga Puja festivities, turning an otherwise routine medical evacuation into a serious aviation emergency. The aircraft was reportedly diverted to Dhaka, where it landed safely under the circumstances.

The patient was identified as Anjana Bhowmik, who was being transported from Agartala to Kolkata for medical treatment. Following the emergency landing, she was taken to Kurmitola General Hospital in Dhaka for medical attention.

According to preliminary information, the patient was accompanied by Dr. Firoz Khan, paramedic Azim Khan and two companions, Santa Bhowmik and Deep Jyoti Mishra. The aircraft was operated by SKB Infracon Private Limited.

The flight crew consisted of Captain Punya Anup and co-pilot Captain Tanuj Sharma, who reportedly brought the aircraft to Dhaka after the door-related emergency arose.

Unconfirmed reports suggested that Anjana Bhowmik was declared dead by doctors at the hospital after being admitted. However, the report of her death had not been officially confirmed at the time of writing.

The patient's companions, the accompanying medical personnel and both pilots were reported to be safe following the emergency landing.
