As part of the state government’s continuing drive to promote higher education and boost employment opportunities the chief minister Dr Manik Saha took a very major step today. In a programme held in the Matangini Pritilata auditorium attached to the womens college today the chief minister handed over letters of appointment to more than seventy five newly recruited assistant professors for general degree colleges across the state. Apart from this, the newly recruited youth organisers recruited by the department of sports and youth affairs were also handed over letters of appointment. This was followed by the handing over of keys of newly purchased Scootys to meritorious girl students as part of implementation of ‘Girl self-reliance scheme’ launched by the central government. The programme was organized by the departments of higher education and sports and youth programme.
Addressing the programme the chief minister called upon the newly recruited assistant professors and sports organisers to perform their duties with utmost sincerity and advised the girls to work for achieving self-reliance in their lives. He said that both the state government and Centre have been working with single-minded determination to develop the state and the country as well as to provide employment opportunities for the youths. “We want cent percent employment for all but , as every one is well aware, the scope for government employment is limited and it depends on available vacancies ; nevertheless we are trying our best to provide as many employment opportunities as possible” said Dr Saha. He called upon the youths to be inspired with the ideal of nation-building and national welfare and security. “We face multiple challenges posed by fissiparous forces but we will overcome all of them provided we all perform our respective duties properly” said chief minister Dr Manik Saha.
