Tripura Olympic Association gets land from government at Agartala

The Tripura government has identified a plot of land near the Pagla Debata temple, adjacent to the old motor stand in Agartala, for the Tripura Olympic Association to support the development of sports infrastructure in the state.
Government officials and representatives of the association visited the site on Saturday and carried out cleaning work and preparations for boundary fencing. Police personnel were also present during the exercise.
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha is likely to perform the bhumi pujan at the site after Durga Puja to mark the beginning of construction, according to information available on Saturday. However, an official announcement regarding the project details and the construction schedule is yet to be made.
The initiative is intended to provide the association with land for its activities as part of efforts to strengthen sports infrastructure in Tripura.
Association official Sujit Roy briefed the media about the initiative after inspecting the site.
