Holy Cross College Celebrates 15th Graduation Day, Chairman Urges Graduates to Uphold Integrity and Social Responsibility

Holy Cross College, Agartala, celebrated its 15th Graduation Day on Friday with an impressive ceremony marked by academic achievements, recognition of meritorious students, cultural performances and inspiring messages for the graduating Batch of 2026.

Around 171 graduates from various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes participated in the ceremony, marking an important milestone in their academic journeys. Students from MA English, MA Political Science, MBA, B.Ed and other undergraduate degree courses were part of the graduating procession.

The programme began with the procession of graduates, followed by a prayer song and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The dignitaries were felicitated by Dr. Fr. Benny K. John, CSC, Principal of Holy Cross College, along with members of the college administration.

Chief Guest Emphasises Integrity, Knowledge and Social Responsibility

In his address, the chief guest highlighted the importance of education in shaping responsible individuals who can contribute meaningfully to society. He encouraged the graduating students to make effective use of their academic knowledge, uphold moral values and approach future challenges with confidence and determination.

The address also underscored the importance of integrity, commitment and social responsibility as graduates move into professional life and assume greater responsibilities in society. The students were encouraged to carry forward the values acquired during their years at the institution and use their education for personal growth as well as the wider public good.

In his presidential address, Fr. K. J. Abraham, CSC, Chairman of the Holy Cross Educational Foundation, North-East Province, urged the graduates to remain committed to the values and principles they had imbibed during their time at the college. He encouraged them to face the challenges of the future with confidence, guided by knowledge, integrity and a strong sense of responsibility towards society.

Academic excellence was recognised through the presentation of certificates and medals to the toppers, while graduation certificates were distributed to the members of the Batch of 2026. The recognition of meritorious students highlighted the institution’s emphasis on academic achievement and dedication to learning.
