Labourer engaged in construction work falls to death in Udaipur

In a tragic incident a labourer engaged in the construction work on a new building fell to death this morning in Udaipur town. The matter is being investigated by R.K.Pur police station after registration of a complaint of unnatural death.

Sources from Udaipur said that a number of construction labourers had been engaged in work on the under-construction 2nd floor of a new building . Around 1-00 in the afternoon a labourer suddenly fell down from the bamboo plank around the wall of the 2nd floor on to a culvert on the road in front in Sonamura Chaumuhuni area with a booming sound. Hearing the sound all other labourers and the road side people rushed to the culvert and saw the fallen labourer lying unconscious in a pool of blood . After being informed by people the Fire Brigade vans reached the spot and took the injured labourer to the Gomati district hospital in Tepania area of Udaipur where he was declared ‘dead on arrival’-that is ,he had died before being brought to the hospital.

Sources said that the labourer was identified only as Titu Das (38) who was called ‘Tituda’ by fellow labourers but his actual name and address could not be ascertained. The personnel of R.K.Pur police station registered a case and have begun investigation into the nature of the accident by which Titu Das had fallen to death.
