Road blockade by BJP’s ‘Jana Jati Morcha’ in Monpathar in protest against post-poll violence and attacks by ‘Tipra Motha’

Even though a joint press conference was held today in Agartala Press Club by tribal leaders of NDA comprising BJP, ‘Tipra Motha’ and IPFT, a large number of BJP leaders and workers in areas close to Monpathar police outpost under Belonia subdivision launched a road blockade in protest against the largescale post-poll violence by the unruly ‘Tipra Motha’ supporters and workers on the residences of BJP leaders, workers and supporters in different parts of Belonia subdivision over the past two days.

The road blockade on the national highway no-8 was continuing till latest reports came in . It was on the blockade spot that the tribal leaders of BJP spoke to media persons and vented their ire against the depredations of unruly ‘Tipra Motha’ workers. A senior local leader of ‘Jana Jati Morcha’ , tribal front organization of the BJP, demanded that the two ministers of ‘Tipra Motha’ be dropped from the ministry by the chief minister and BJP as well as its front organisations start working on their own . “Our party works on the ideals set by Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya and Shyama Prasad Mookherkee and we work on the ideology of nationalism ; we do not need any other party as ally or auxiliary ; these sectarian parties always create trouble and ‘Tipra Motha’ is a shining example of this; we can do far better without them and I urge upon our state president and chief minister to rethink our relationship with the ‘Tipra Motha’ that thrives on acts of goonery” the senior ‘Jana Jati Morcha’ leader said . He added that the blockade programme will continue unless the ‘Tipra Motha’ miscreants stop their violent attacks.

Meanwhile , tribal leaders of BJP, ‘Tipra Motha’ and IPFT held a joint press conference in Agartala Press Club under the banner of NDA. Briefing media persons former minister and NDA spokes persons Mebar Kumar Jamatya asserted that in the just-concluded VC elections the NDA have earned a remarkable victory by defeating the CPI (M) and Congress. He congratulated the leaders and workers of all the constituent parties and said that in the coming days also the NDA will continue to gain in strength by working together. Mebar blamed the CPI (M) and Congress for hatching conspiracies against the state government but added that no conspiracy will succeed in weakening the NDA.
