Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir Celebrates 30th Foundation Anniversary with Cultural Festivities

Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir at Narsingarh celebrated its 30th foundation anniversary with a series of academic, cultural and creative programmes, marking three decades of contribution to education and the promotion of India’s rich cultural heritage in Tripura.
The main anniversary programme was organised at the Maharaja Bir Bikram Auditorium of Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir on October 2. The celebrations, however, began on October 1 with an exhibition showcasing innovative ideas and creative projects prepared by students, along with a Batik handicraft stall and a food stall organised by students of Class X.
The October 2 programme began with the rendition of the National Anthem by the students. Delivering the welcome address, Principal Swapna Som highlighted the history and continuing relevance of the institution and expressed gratitude to students, teachers and parents for their continued faith in the ideals and educational philosophy of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.
Among those present at the anniversary programme were former Vice-Chancellor of Tripura University and Padma Shri awardee Dr. Arunoday Saha, former Director of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Agartala Centre Dr. G. V. Subramanian, Chairman of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Agartala Centre and former IFS officer Debashish Chakraborty, Vice-Chairman Tapan Lodh, former Headmistress of the school Pompi Majumdar, Principal of Bhavan’s B.Ed. College at Narsingarh Dr. Rajat De, Dr. Anwesha Bhattacharya and Dr. Ranu Chakraborty, among others.
A major highlight of the programme was the formal unveiling of the school magazine ‘Pragya’ by the distinguished guests. The ceremony also featured the presentation of the K. M. Munshi Pratibha Scholarship and the Best Student of the Year awards to the selected students.
Certificates and prizes were also presented to the winners of the two-day innovative exhibition, recognising students for their creativity, originality and innovative thinking. Special honours were conferred on individuals who had been associated with the institution since its early years and had devoted three decades of their professional lives to Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir.
The distinguished guests, in their respective addresses, appreciated the institution’s emphasis on discipline, academic achievement and co-curricular activities. Debashish Chakraborty, Chairman of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Agartala Centre, particularly stressed the importance of social responsibility and the development of responsible citizenship among students.
The cultural performances presented by the young students emerged as another major attraction of the anniversary celebrations, drawing appreciation from the audience. A large number of students, parents, teachers and well-wishers attended the programme.
The 30th anniversary celebrations were thus marked by a combination of academic recognition, student creativity, cultural performances and acknowledgement of the contributions of teachers and other members associated with the institution over the past three decades.
The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
