Dev seeks Tripura talent, locations for future film projects

Bengali actor-producer Dev on Tuesday said his production company, Dev Entertainment Ventures, was keen to collaborate with talent from Tripura and explore locations in the state for future film projects.

Dev was speaking to reporters at Rupasi SSR in Agartala during his visit to promote his directorial debut DeSu7.

Asked about limited opportunities for Tripura-based artistes, Dev said his production house was open to working with young talent in areas including acting, scripting and cinematography. He cited the participation of a YouTuber from the region in DeSu7 and invited aspiring artistes to approach his team with proposals.

Dev also said the production house was looking at new shooting locations within India, including Tripura. He said the team would discuss the possibility of exploring locations in the state.

The actor said he was grateful for the response from people in Tripura during his visit and thanked them for their warmth and affection.

Speaking about DeSu7, Dev said the film seeks to evoke nostalgia among audiences who had followed his earlier films with actor Subhasree. He said filmmaking had evolved considerably over the years and the film was intended to reconnect with audiences who had an emotional association with the pair.

Subhasree also thanked people in Tripura for the welcome extended to the film’s team.

DeSu7 is scheduled to release on October 16, coinciding with Durga Puja.
