Manik Sarkar Urges Party Workers, Supporters to Resist Any Wrongdoing During TTAADC Village Committee Polls

Former Tripura Chief Minister and CPI(M) leader Manik Sarkar has called upon party workers and supporters to remain united and resist any alleged wrongdoing, intimidation or obstruction during the upcoming TTAADC Village Committee elections.

Addressing a campaign gathering at Karbook in Gomati district, Sarkar urged party workers and supporters to remain vigilant at polling centres and ensure that voters are able to exercise their democratic rights freely and without fear.

Sarkar reportedly appealed to party supporters to go to polling stations in groups and said that if any attempt was made to prevent voters from casting their votes or if any irregularity was noticed, they should collectively resist such actions.

He alleged that people in the ADC areas had faced various difficulties and claimed that the situation required greater public participation and vigilance during the election process.

The CPI(M) leader also criticised the BJP-led state government and raised issues including unemployment, lack of adequate employment opportunities, poor road conditions, electricity-related problems and alleged shortcomings in development activities.

With campaigning for the TTAADC Village Committee elections ending on September 26, political parties have intensified their final appeals to voters. Polling is scheduled for September 28 and will be conducted through ballot papers.

Sarkar's remarks come amid heightened political activity ahead of the Village Committee polls, with the CPI(M) urging its supporters to remain alert and protect what it described as the democratic rights of voters.
