Tripura Gramin Bank comes to the rescue of government and people by deciding to keep all branches open on September 27, Sunday

The three day nationwide bank strike called by United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) from September 28 to 30th has put the governments in states and Centre in a tight spot in the festival season which has already commenced. The central government as well as higher managements of the banks had called upon the UFBU to temporarily postpone the strike for a later date but the Forum refused to oblige.

Given this position the Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB) , as its counterparts in other states, has decided to keep all the branches of the bank across the state open on next Sunday,that is on September 27 to facilitate urgent transactions , specially in the form of deposit and withdrawal of funds in the run-up to the ‘Durga Puja’ . This will also enable employees and teaches of the state government withdraw their salaries in time.

Sources in the TGB said that permission for keeping the bank branches open on next Sunday has come from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The TGB authority has taken the decision to keep financial services going as well as to continue the services in regard to deposit and withdrawal of funds, a notification in this regard stated. All the services of the Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB) in bank branches , headquarter of the bank , ATM-attached branches and currency chests in the branches will remain fully active on next Sunday, that is on September 27, the notification added.
