Two Major IPS Reshuffle in Tripura Police: Anish Prasad Posted as IGP (Crime), Avula Ramesh Reddy Gets IGP (Administration)

The Government of Tripura has effected a significant reshuffle in the senior police administration with the transfer and posting of two senior IPS officers. The order was issued by the General Administration (Personnel & Training) Department on September 17, 2026, with immediate effect and until further orders.

According to the government notification, Shri Anish Prasad, IPS, who has returned to Tripura following his repatriation from Central deputation, has been posted as Inspector General of Police (Crime), Tripura. Prior to the new posting, he was serving as IGP (PHQ).

At the same time, Shri Avula Ramesh Reddy, IPS, who was serving as IGP (Crime) with the additional charge of IGP (Administration), has been transferred and posted as IGP (Administration), Tripura.

The notification, issued under the authority of the Governor of Tripura, states that the changes have been made “in the interest of public service.” The new assignments will remain effective until further orders.
