A press conference convened to clear the growing confusion surrounding the treatment of Manushree and the funds reportedly collected through crowdfunding instead raised fresh questions after Raja Saha and Dhruva Chowdhury failed to provide immediate answers to several key queries from journalists and sought another 48 hours to furnish information and documents.

The press conference, which was expected to address questions surrounding Manushree’s treatment, the crowdfunding campaign and earlier statements made regarding the amount collected, ended without clear answers to some of the most important questions raised by the media.

Conflicting Figures Over Crowdfunding Amount

One of the major issues raised at the press conference was the reported amount collected for Manushree’s treatment.

According to statements referred to during the proceedings, Raja Saha said on Tuesday that around ₹6 crore had been collected for Manushree’s treatment. However, an earlier figure reportedly provided at the office of the District Magistrate of West Tripura was around ₹7 crore through crowdfunding.

Questions have also arisen because figures mentioned during different live updates were reportedly higher, with references at different times to ₹8 crore and even ₹10 crore.

The differences between these figures have prompted questions from journalists seeking a clear and documented account of the total amount collected, the amount spent on treatment and the balance, if any.

Rather than providing an immediate reconciliation of the figures, Saha reportedly sought 48 hours to respond.

Journalists Seek Clarification on Medical Treatment

Questions were also raised regarding the medical treatment being provided to Manushree, including the duration for which a particular injection could be administered.

When a journalist asked, “For how many years can this injection be given?”, Manushree’s father reportedly sought another 48 hours to provide an answer.

The response has generated further discussion because the press conference itself had been called amid growing public and media questions about Manushree’s treatment and the crowdfunding campaign.

Health Department Notification Becomes Another Point of Dispute

Another issue that came up was an alleged Health Department notification concerning the treatment.

Questions were reportedly raised about the contents and interpretation of the notification and how it related to earlier claims and statements. Instead of resolving the matter immediately, Manushree’s father reportedly indicated that clarification would require additional time.

This has now created another area of uncertainty over what documents and explanations will eventually be presented.

Raja Saha Leaves After Questions, Asks for 48 Hours

The most striking moment of the press conference reportedly came when journalists began asking detailed questions.

According to those present, Raja Saha got up from his chair after facing questions and requested 48 hours to provide answers and supporting information.

The development has attracted attention because the stated purpose of the press conference was to address the allegations and remove confusion. However, the decision to seek additional time instead of answering the questions immediately has led to fresh speculation over what information or documents may be produced after the 48-hour period.

What Will Be Revealed After 48 Hours?

Several questions now remain unanswered.

What documentary evidence will be presented after 48 hours? Will the crowdfunding figures be reconciled with the different amounts mentioned previously? What documents support the claims made regarding the press release and the Health Department notification? And what explanation will be offered regarding earlier statements made in connection with the media and the crowdfunding campaign?

These questions are likely to remain at the centre of public attention until the promised clarification is made.

Demand for a Transparent Financial Account

The controversy has increasingly shifted from individual statements to the need for a transparent and verifiable financial account of the crowdfunding campaign.

If different figures have indeed been publicly cited at different times, the most effective way to settle the issue would be to publish or produce the relevant crowdfunding records, bank statements, receipts, treatment expenditure details and other supporting documents, allowing the total collection and expenditure to be independently understood.

For now, however, the promised 48-hour window has added another chapter to the controversy rather than bringing it to an end.

The key question remains: What information and documentary evidence will Raja Saha, Dhruva Chowdhury and Manushree’s family place before the media after 48 hours—and will it finally resolve the discrepancies surrounding the crowdfunding amount and treatment-related claims?
