The day of 11th September is memorable for three specific reasons in recent history , although other major events must have taken place on this day of the Gregorian calendar. The three important events that shaped history on this day were the destruction of twin towers or world trade centre in USA in the year 2001 by death merchants of slain Osama Bin Laden, the painful death of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah in the year 1948 after protracted suffering from tuberculosis turned into lung cancer and the sensational speech of Swami Vivekananda at Chicago in the USA in the year 1893 in the world theosophical conference.

As a mark of commemoration of the great Indian saint Swami Vuvekananda’s speech in Chicago-termed as a clarion call of suppressed Indian Hindu community against inequities in other world religions- the Ramkrisna Mission Educational Complex in the southeastern outskirts of Agartala organized a function . The main feature of the function was a voluntary blood donation programme in which the students, teachers and non-teaching staff of the school as well as a number of local residents took part and donated blood. The number of total donors was more than a hundred.

The chief guest in the programme was justice (retired) Swapan Chandra Das who paid rich tributes to Swami Vivekananda and the contributions made by him to the cause of India and Hinduism. He appreciated the efforts being made by the Ram Krishna Mission authority to the cause of education and character building in many parts of the country. Swami Shubha Karananda ,the princpipal of the institution also dwelt on the activities of the Mission and the school run by it , stressing the importance of building a high moral character and patriotic feelings among youths and students.
