Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress president Neel Kamal Saha on Friday alleged that the BJP-led government was creating opportunities for people from outside the state to secure permanent government jobs in Tripura.

Saha made the allegation while addressing a six-hour sit-in demonstration organised by the Youth Congress in Khowai.

He alleged that the government’s reported decision to no longer make the Permanent Resident of Tripura Certificate (PRTC) mandatory for government recruitment would disadvantage local job seekers.

“This government has proven itself to be anti-youth,” Saha said, alleging that the move would allow outsiders to enter state government services at the expense of local youth.

He also criticised the government over vacant posts in various departments, alleging that announcements about filling vacancies had not been matched by actual recruitment.

Saha demanded early recruitment of candidates who have qualified TET-I and TET-II examinations.
